Abstract
This study designed and developed a web-based Personalized Normative Feedback (PNF) system to promote
appropriate game use, drawing on game use time data from approximately 10,000 junior and senior high school students
(Suzuki et al., 2025). The system is intended to encourage awareness of excessive gaming by allowing users to input their
own game use time and immediately visualize their relative position within a normative sample of Japanese adolescents. A
key feature of the system is that it is freely accessible online and does not require individualized support from professionals,
enabling its use with minimal human resource costs. Furthermore, the system has the potential to serve as a practical tool for
promoting early awareness of excessive gaming prior to clinical intervention, complementing preventive support in school
and family settings and offering a novel option for gaming disorder prevention.
