Abstract
In this article, the following points are clarified from the interview with craftsmen (Tsubotatsu and Tsubosei) who make wooden inkpots in Sanjo city in Niigata prefecture and related documents. 1 Part names and classification of inkpot used in Sanjo city are distinguished. 2 The production process of inkpot are recorded with photographs. 3 A brief history of development of the production of inkpots in Sanjo city from the late 19th century until the present is clarified.
