Abstract
A single specimen of Dasyscopelus asper(Richardson,1845)which stranded at Tudumari-hama Beach, Iriomote-jimaIsland, Yaeyama Islands in the Ryukyu Archipelago. Although this species is one of the common species in the deep-sea of northwestern Pacific Ocean, there are no records of this species in the southern Ryukyu Archipelago. This specimen is representing the first record of the species from this area.
