Abstract
Seeds of Macropsychanthus (Fabaceae) drifted on the coasts of Japanese islands were classified to seven species based on about 700 seed collections. The identified species were M.comosus (G.Mey.) L.P.Queitoz & Snak, M.ferrugineus Merr., M.hexander (Ralph) L.P.Queiroz & Snak, M.javanicus (Benth.) L.P.Queiroz & Snak, M.umbrinus (Elmer) L.P.Queiroz & Snak, M.wilsonii Standl.) L.P.Queiroz & Snak, and an unknown species（M. " mable " tentatively named). Most frequent seeds are M.hexander, which were about 80％ of all drift seeds of Macropsychanthus. The following frequent species were M.wilsonii (5％), M.comosus (4％), M.ferrugineus (4％) and M.javanicus (3％). M.umbrinus and M. " mable " were rarely drifted and about 1％, respectively．The characters of their seeds were described.
