Abstract
In this report, only the diet condition was changed, compared with the previous report. The Calories of the total diet fed were 2867 Calories in work time and 2490 in rest. time. The other experimental conditions were the same as previous report.
The results obtained were as follows;
1) If the diet fed was adequate nutritively, the basal metabolism would be very little changed after 20 days confinement.
2) Body weight showed 1.2% decrement.
3) Body density increased slightly.
4) The changes of body weight and density seen as above, suggest that the decrement of body weight was caused by decrease of depot fat first and next of active protoplasmic mass.
5) The basal metabolism is more correlated with the body density rather than with the body weight.
6) When body activity is not enough even under the good nutrition, the activity of protoplasmic mass would be depressed.
7) The function of blood circulation was depressed after 20 days confinement.
