Self-Written Waveguide Technology for Optical Interconnection

Abstract

Optical interconnection to replace a portion of the electrical wiring with the optical wiring has been attracting attention. Possible technique of Self-Written Waveguide (SWW) using UV curable resin will play an important role in the implementation. We will introduce the optical wiring connection technology that has been developed so far, and discuss the challenge for further performance improvement.
