Characterization of Bond Strength in EXAFS Study

Abstract

A practical EXAFS equation for anharmonic vibrational system was proposed. The parameter δ gives direct information on the bond strength, bond strtching/contraction and positive or negative thermal expansion for anharmonic vibrational systems. The formalism can be used in anharmonic systems beyond limit of the cumulant method. The Poisson like pair distribution function discussed here is suitable to explain the anharmonic pair potential, and dissociation energy and dissociation temperature can be obtained by EXAFS technique.
