Abstract
Polarizing light scattering characteristics of the composites composed of self-assembling low molecular weight gelator and liquid crystal were investigated in order to clarify the molecular aggregation structure of the composites. It became apparent from light scattering measurement that the gelator formed a network structure with a fractal dimension in the composite. A strong relationship between the fractal dimension of the network structure and the electro-optical properties was recognized.
