Physical Properties of Fluoro-Substituted 4-Cyanophenyl 4-Alkyl Benzoates and Study of STN-LCD Properties

Abstract

Physical properties of fluoro-substituted 4-cyanophenyl 4-alkyl benzoates have been measured. Dielectric anisotropy of these compounds were increased by fluoro-substitution. These viscosity were not increased. And thus, the LC mixtures for STN-LCD with low voltage, fast response time and furthermore good frequency behavior were obtained.
