Field Induced Molecular Reorientation in Thick Freely Suspended Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal Films.

Abstract

The ellipsometry and conoscope observation of thick freely suspended ferroelectric liquid crystal film that has smectic helical structure was carried OUt. Uniaxial property was observed in the film. The optical axis was perpendicular to the film surface and inclined depending on the applied field.
