Abstract
The crystal structure of monosubstituted ferrocene derivative, ω-[4-(4-methoxyphenoxycarbonyl) phenoxycarbonyl]pentyl 4-ferrocenylbenzoate;MPAF-5, 5 is the number of carbon atoms in the flexible methylene chain, was determined by the X-ray diffraction method using single crystal. The unit cell of the crystal contained two crystallographically unequivalent molecules A and B. MPAF-5 is non-liquid crystalline compound, but its structure is similar to that of liquid crystalline MPAF-n.
