Abstract
Cyclotriphosphazenes with benzyloxy group having triple-stranded alkoxy chain were prepared and studied the effect of carbon number dependence on the phase transition using DSC and X-ray powder diffraction measurements, and polarized microscope observations. In the series of hexaxis (3, 4, 5-trialkoxybenzyloxy) cyclotriphosphazene (HTACP-n), a monotropic columnar phase was observed in n=11〜13. Hexaxis (3, 4-didodecyloxybenzyloxy) cyclotriphosphazene was also prepared, and compared its phase transition with HTACP-12.
