PD03 The Photo electromotive force in Nematic Liquid Crystal Cells using various electrodes

Abstract

An experiment of the Photo electromotive force of Nematic Liquid Crystal and an examination of theory were performed on cells using some kinds of electrode and dyestuffs. The fabricated cell mixed dyestuffs of 3% of the weight ratio of Liquid Crystal. The used dystuffs are sudanIV, brilliant yellow and methyl yellow. The electrodes of cells are used Nesa glass, copper plate, n-type semiconductor and glass substrate that carried out the vacuum evaporation of the metal, and the cell spacer is 4 μm. The metal that carried out vacuum evaporation is gold, silver, copper, and aluminum. The cell mixed sudanIV and with n-type semiconductor electrode generated the highest Photo electromotive force.
