3A03 Dynamics of electron and impurity ion transport in smectic liquid crystal

Abstract

We have analyzed the transient photocurrent exhibiting twotransite in Sm phases of phenylnapthalene derivative, which are attributed to electronic and ionic conductions, by computer aided simulation with a multiple-trapping model and ion diffusion. We successfully reconstructed the experimental results by applying a model in which spontaneous ionization of impurity molecules and charge generation take place.
