Abstract
Partition coefficients of liquid crystal compounds were investigated by means of regular solution theory, which is one of the thermodynamic treatments for non-ideal systems. Solubility parameters were used to calculate the activity coefficient in the regular solution theory. In this paper, we would like to report on the relationship between solubility parameters and HPLC retention times of liquid crystal compounds.
