Abstract
We have investigated the viewing angle characteristics of MVA-LCDs with circular polarizers. Main attention is paid to finding the panel configuration showing the wide viewing angle property, which is optically compensated only by using uniaxial optical films. The simulated results show that relatively good viewing angle characteristics are obtained by using l/2 and l/4 films.
