Abstract
We construct a simple phenomenological model of collective molecularrotation in chiral liquid crystal monolayers, regarding it as a 2Danalogue of Lehmann-type rotation. Results of numerical simulationsbased on this model are consistent with the experimental observationqualitatively, especially the winding/unwinding phenomena near theboundaries (defect lines, walls).
