Abstract
The charge carrier transport property of the hexagonal columnar mesophase of a pyrene-based discotic liquid crystal with four (dialkoxy)phenyl substitutants (Py4Ph(OC8H17)2) was investigated by time-of-flight technique. Py4Ph(OC8H17)2 exhibits a bipolar charge transport, in the mesophase with comparable electron and hole mobility values in the order of 3 x 10-3 cm2 V-1 s-1.
