Abstract
To investigate liquid crystalline structure of the pseudo isotropic liquid crystal exhibiting isotropic phase in the macroscopic order and liquid crystal phase in the microscopic order, which composed of polymer network and chiral liquid crystal having a blue phase, liquid crystalline chirality dependences of light scattering intensity were measured. Vv and Hv scattering intensity of the polymer network / chiral liquid crystal composites using blue phase liquid crystal were much lower than the composites using nematic and chiral nematic liquid crystal. The temperature dependences of Hv scattering intensity were also measured. The composites using blue phase liquid crystal exhibit much more isotropic than the others. These results imply the double twist order of liquid crystal molecules in the composites using blue phase liquid crystal were maintained in a temperature range which bulk liquid crystals exhibit chiral nematic phase.
