Abstract
We synthesized new chiral dopants from (1R, 2R)-(+)-cyclohexane dicarboxylic acid anhydride. Their helical twisting power(HTP) values were evaluated in nematic liquid crystals. The magnitudes of their HTP were largely influenced by the type of linkage between the cyclohexane frame and the aryl moieties. The chiral dopant(6) having a keton and an ester linkages showed the largest HTP value(16 micrometer-1).
