Abstract
Oxadiazole derivatives are well known as electron transport materials. Five novel 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives were synthesized from 2,5-bisalkoxyterephtalic dihydrazide and p-alkoxybenzoyl chloride, and their derivatives were soluble in chloroform. Thermal properties and UV –vis spectra of oxadiazole derivatives are dependent on the number of carbon atoms in the terminal alkoxy group. As the number of carbon atoms increased, the blue shift of the peak assigned to the oxadiazole ring was observed in the UV-vis spectra. Photoluminescence spectra of oxadiazole derivatives were independent on the terminal alkoxy group.
