High reliability of LCD panels - Relations between RDC and electrode -

Abstract

Recently, with use expansion of LCD application, the requirement of high reliability for LCDs is more and more ncreasing. Since image sticking, one of the reliability of LCDs, could be estimated by measuring the residual DC voltage of LCDs RDC), we investigated the RDC by changing thickness of the alignment layers and the electrode materials. We found hat the RDC value is minimized at certain thickness of alignment layer (around 200A), and the RDC is strongly influenced by the electrode under the alignment layer.
