Abstract
Microwave variable delay line of microstrip line structure using ferroelectric liquid crystal with large tilt angle is fabricated. Voltage dependence of the phase shift under application of triangular wave has a hysteresis. Response times of the phase shift under application and removal of voltage are measured. Rise and decay times of the phase shift increase under low voltage application and then decrease with the voltage via the peak value. Both response times are less than 30 ms under application of sufficient voltage.
