Evaluation of characteristics of cholesteric film

Abstract

We have investigated parameters of liquid crystals by using spectroscopic ellipsometry. In this study, characteristics of cholesteric film is reported by means of ellipsometric parameters phase difference and angle of amplitude ratio. Thickness of cholesteric film and twist angle are determined by varying the controlling conditions such as temperature of the cholesteric film, UV exposure time and polarization of UV light, etc.
