Abstract
Liquid crystal blue phase(Blue Phase;BP) has attracted attention in recent years as soft materials which have a photonic bandgap and show the high-speed electro optical response. Although BP_II_is attractive as a material without an optical leak in the case of practical application to a liquid crystal display, the problem is that the temperature range of BP_II_is generally less than 1 K. In this study, the polymer- stabilized BP_II_of which the temperature range was extended to more than 100 K was successfully developed, and periodic structural analysis and the electric field-induced birefringence properties of polymer-stabilized BP_II_were investigated.
