Abstract
Recently, photonic crystals attract much attention because of their physical anomalous optical property. We investigated the hyper swollen lyotropic lamellar phase of C12E5 as a novel photonic material. Intermembrane distance of this phase can be expanded to the visible wavelength by concentration of C12E5. We measured the reflection spectra in the micellar and lamellar phases when the white light is obliquely incident. Moreover we compared the emission spectra between dye-doped lyotropic lamellar and micellar phases.
