Abstract
Gold(I) complexes show strong luminescence via Au(I)-Au(I) aurophilic interaction, and their strong luminescence is interesting in applications for photo-electronic devices and chemical sensors. In this study, we synthesized trinuclear gold complexes with pyrazole ligands having long alkyl chains. The complexes synthesized showed discotic columnar phase and photoluminescence in the crystal phase, liquid crystal phase and isotropic phase by irradiation with ultraviolet light. We found that the luminescent properties depended on the phase structures.
