Molecular arrangement in Ia3d phase of 1,2-bis(4'-n-alkoxybenzoyl)hydrazine BABH(n) obtained by maximum entropy method

Abstract

1,2-Bis(4'-n-alkoxybenzoyl)hydrazine [BABH(n), n is the number of carbon in the alkyl chain] which is a thermotropic cubic mesogen, exhibits two cubic phases with space groups Ia3d and Im3m. Although we have revealed the basic aggregation structure of both phases, details are still open. We revealed the molecular arrangement in the Ia3d phase by maximum entropy method (MEM) in this study.
