Critical phenomena in the vicinity of Isotropic-Smectic blue phase transition

Abstract

We have investigated fluctuation modes on the phase diagram of the mixture A and B, where A shows I-SmBP transition, and B shows I-ChBP transition. We focus our attention to the SmBP nature on the I-ChBP transition and ChBP nature on the I-SmBP transition. In the B rich region, weak first order nature of the I-ChBP transition is modified to the second order like behavior by introducing small amount of A. On the other hand, anomalous broad transition nature of I-SmBP transition is weaken by introducing small amount of B.
