3c03 Microsecond switching of Bragg reflection band in nano-pore dispersed anisotropic polymer/cholesteric liquid crystal composite

Abstract

We report a high-speed electro-optic response in cholesteric liquid crystals(ChLCs). The ChLC device consisted of an anisotropic polymer matrix possessing helical order embedded with nanosized pores filled with a ChLC. LC molecules confined in the nanopores showed the high-speed electro-optic response, reaching a decay time of 6μs.
