Abstract
The rubbing treatment as a fabrication process of liquid crystal display (LCD) has been widely used. Advantages of rubbing process are wide area fabrication, fast processing, low cost, and so on. However, it is difficult to control the alignment process. Furthermore, rubbing treatment is a upper process of manufacturing LCD. Therefore, this disadvantage is considered to affect the yield rate of manufacturing LCD. In this study, the correlation between the rubbing-induced optical anisotropy and the tilt angle in the vertical alignment film will be investigated.
