PB40 Study on New Electrically-controlled LC Depolarizer using Amorphous-alignment Structure

Abstract

We have proposed a new type of an electrically-controlled depolarizer that uses amorphous LC alignment structure. In this report, we have tried to reduce light scattering properties of an amorphous LC alignment structure by controlling the domain size. We prove that the low cooling rate to a nematic phase after isotropic injection of LC into a cell reduces the light scattering due to enlarging the domain size.
