PB47 Preparation and stimulus-response behavior of cholesteric liquid crystalline elastomers

Abstract

We prepare the cholesteric liquid crystal elastomers (Ch-LCE) using the chiral imprinting method. The Ch-LCEs exhibit selective reflection at characteristic wave lengths resulting from the periodic herical mesogen alignment. The macroscopic dimensions and the characteristic wave length for selective reflection are investigated as a function of temperature.
