Abstract

Recently, high-performance organic TFTs have been required for realizing flexible displays. In organic semiconduct or materials, the molecular orientation and ordering could be improved by using molecular alignment control technology, which results in high-performance organic TFT s. In this study, we try to control the orientation properties of pentacene molecules by using two types of photo-alignment materials as gate insulators. We show the TFT performance depends strongly on a gate insulator used, in which a proper choice of the gate insulator give s the mobility as high as ~4Vs/cm2.
