Abstract
Electroconvection in nematic liquid crystals was discovered by R. Williams. G. H. Heilmeier invented the first liquid crystal display in the world utilizing a dynamic scattering mode that is a turbulent state of the electroconvection. Though this type of display was not popularly used, the turbulent electroconvection has been researched as a prototype of dissipative structures and turbulence to now. Researches of structures and transport phenomena of turbulence utilizing the nematic electroconvection will be presented in the talk.
