Abstract
Nano-Phase Separated Liquid Crystals(NPS-LCs) with fast response time have been investigated. NPS-LCs are prepared by forming polymer network in liquid crystal host by photo-induced phase separation process with photo-curable monomer. NPS-LCs achieve 40% faster decay time compared to Polymer Sustained Alignment Liquid Crystals(PSA-LCs). The faster decay time which is attributable to strong interaction between the polymer network and the liquid crystal host, is maintained even at low temperature.
