Abstract
Lemke dye is one of the nonlinear optical (NLO) materials. This has a pentaene moiety, bearing dicyanoethylene and amino groups, viz. a push- and pull-structure. In previous studies, generation of THz wave was achieved from poled polymer films containing Lemke dyes. In general, organic NLO materials based on Lemke dyes are crystalline. Liquid crystal (LC) phases have dynamic ordered structures. This feature is favorable for the production of thin films by a wet process and control of molecular orientation by external stimulus. In this study, we report Lemke dye derivatives bearing oligosiloxane chains and production of thin films by a spin-coating method.
