Development of liquid crystal materials having an anthraquinone and　bithiophene moieties, and its electrochromic property.

Abstract

The liquid crystal compound having an anthraquinone and bithiophene moieties were synthesized. The mesophase have been characterized by means of POM, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies. The observation results, its phase was hexagonal colomnar phase. Furthermore, those electrochemical properties were examined by cyclic voltammetry (CV). And the electrochromism properties of the liquid crystal compound was also examined by CV-UV/vis spectra.
