Helical director orientation in cholesteric gels via chiral imprinting method

Abstract

The chirality of helical director orientation of the cholesteric gels, which are the cholesteric elastomers(ChE) swollen by chiral liquid crystal solvents,is investigated for the ChE which are prepared by chiral imprinting method,　i.e.,　the cross-linking of achiral mesogens in the presence of a nonreactive chiral dopant. Two types of chiral liquid crystal solvents with different chiralities are employed as the swelling solvents
