Abstract

We fabricate reverse mode polymer dispersed liquid crystals by mixing with isotropic and anisotropic polymers (reactive mesogen:RM). Isotropic polymers which show different morphology structures, droplet, polymer network and polymer ball types are used. The effect of the isotropic polymer on the reverse mode electro-optical characteristic is clarified. A driving voltage decreases by adding polymer ball type isotropic polymer to the RM. A mechanical strength can also be improved as compared with the reverse mode cell containing only the RM.
