Abstract

The voltage variability of birefringence in liquid crystal is applied to the tunable filter. In this case, liquid crystal cells having different thicknesses are stacked to match the main wavelengths with maximum transmission, and the other spectra are attenuated from each other. In addition to this, this report is shown that the half width can be changed by stacking two liquid crystal cells having different wavelength dependences of birefringence and controlling them in a complementary manner in order to maintain the condition of the main wavelength.
