Abstract

I have developed tabletop ultrafast time-resolved electron diffraction setups to measure the dynamics of photoreactive or photoresponsive materials in real-time and on atomic and molecular scales. In this presentation, I will explain the ultrafast time-resolved electron diffraction measurements and describe the structural dynamics of liquid crystals. In addition, I will introduce ongoing projects on developing novel ultrafast time-resolved electron diffractometers, which will be useful for investigating the structural dynamics of liquid crystals.
