Abstract

Polarization variation from visible to THz wavelength ranges has been numerically analyzed in homogeneous and twisted liquid crystal reorientations induced by in-plane electric field. The cell thickness in a nonlinear study is very thick about 100 micron meter. Therefore, linearly polarized visible light passes through the cell with roughly rotating along the LC director direction. THz wave, on the other hand, the light propagates through the cell while changing its polarization state. The LC reorientation director distribution induced by the incident light field should also strongly depend on the light wavelength.
