Abstract

We have systematically studied the photoinduced reorientation of photoresponsive polymers, especially focusing on the use of N-benzylideneaniline (NBA) as a photoresponsive group. NBA moieties can photoalign based on E-Z-E photoisomerization and can be easily changed to form functional-oriented groups via hydrolysis and re-condensation with functional moieties. In this study, we have achieved in situ conversion to polarized light-emitting films by direct replacement of the end groups.
