Abstract

Helical network polymers have been synthesized in chiral nematic liquid crystals (N*-LC) and chiral smectic liquid crystals (SC*-LC) through photo-radical polymerizations of acrylate derivatives. The polymers exhibited blue circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) properties based on their helical structures and fluorescent fluorene moieties. In this work, we synthesized three types of helical network polymers exhibiting red, green, and blue CPL properties, respectively. The RGB fluorescent helical network polymers were synthesized through the polymerization of monomer 1 and 2 (2R / 2G / 2B) with the crosslinker in N*-LC.
