Abstract

We designed broadband geometric phase diffractive optical elements (GPDOE) in the near infrared regime. High diffraction efficiency over 99% from 1250 nm to 2200 nm can be achieved by employing a dual-layer GPDOE made by chiral liquid crystal materials with opposite handedness. We fabricated a single-layer GPDOE, whose diffraction efficiency agreed with the calculation. The broadband GPDOE with dual-twist structure is a promising optical component for a polarization imaging system in the near infrared regime.
