While ferroelectric nematic liquid crystals (FNLCs) exhibit high dielectric permittivity, their dielectric relaxation behavior and ferroelectric mechanism remain unclear. In this study, we measured the dielectric dispersion of FNLC under DC electric fields to investigate the temperature and field dependence of its relaxation modes. We revealed that, at higher fields, the temperature shift of the peak dielectric permittivity is proportional to the applied electric field strength raised to the power of two-thirds. The results suggest that the ferroelectric phase transition at high electric fields is of second order.
