Abstract
The series of alkylsilyl ether substituted pyranose derivatives with fluoro-alkyl group were synthesized for the chiral dopants of ferroelectric liquid crystals. Compared with the alkyl ether substituted ones, they induced larger spontaneous polarization(Ps). But other properties, such as phase transition temperature, tilt angle, were same as those of alkyl ether substituted ones. In the series of alkylsilyl ether substituted group, trimethylsilyl substituted one had the largest Ps and higher SC*-SA transition temperature.
