Abstract
Differential scanning calorimetric, X-ray, dielectric and dynamical mechanical studies have been made for the copolyesters composed of quaterphenyl (DHQ, hard segment) and polyethylene adipate (soft segment) to clarify the structure and phase transition. It was found that the crystalline region of the soft segment disordered by the hard segment melted near 280K and became smaller with increasing the DHQ content. The hard segment moiety was found to soften above 320K.
