Molecular orientation in liquid crystal(LC) photo-regulated by azobenzene derivative Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) film has been studied by infrared and Raman spectroscopy. The obtained spectra show that hydrocarbon chain of the LC molecule is in disordered state in the LC cell. It is also indicated that the LC molecule slightly interacts with the LB film, so that a little regulation is occurred in the case of a 5CB of nematic LC.
